Do you have questions about Feed the Fight and how you can get involved? Below are answers to some of the most common questions we receive:

I own a restaurant and want to join Feed the Fight. Can I?
We appreciate your interest in Feed the Fight. We are currently working with over 20 restaurants and over a dozen healthcare facilities. At this time we cannot onboard additional restaurants. The coordination logistics are handled by volunteers and until we expand further through fundraising, we’re not able to add more meal vendors.
How many meals do you deliver to each hospital?
It varies by request and by the headcount of specific departments. We started out purchasing meals for COVID response teams, ICU, and Emergency Departments. As we expand our goal is to deliver to hospital teams in laboratories, pharmacies, security, environmental services, and more.
How do you choose the hospitals for meal deliveries?
As noted above, we focus on the hospitals that are closest to the meal providers in DC. As our organization grows, we have attempted to expand the number of healthcare facilities we service but obviously cannot reach them all every week.
What geographic area does Feed the Fight DC cover?
Primarily, we cover Washington DC and the suburban areas inside the Beltway in Arlington County and Montgomery County.
Can I direct my donation to a restaurant of my choice?
At this time we cannot direct funds to a specific restaurant. You may absolutely call the restaurant directly and place an order yourself for them to deliver to a hospital of your choosing. Many hospitals now have contact information about meal delivery on their websites. If the restaurant has a minimum dollar amount for delivery, consider collecting money from neighbors for a group effort.
We’d love to nominate our team to receive meals through Feed the Fight. Is that possible?
We encourage you to fill out this form to request assistance.
A delivery was made at the hospital I work at, but my team didn’t receive any meals. Why?
As noted above, we are working with many facilities, most of which have a central point of contact. If you work at a hospital but have not received a meal, please contact your facility’s philanthropy office, foundation director, or similar staff person.
How many meals do you deliver every week?
We provide up to 500 meals per day between approximately 8-10 healthcare facilities per day.
How can we get deliveries to other counties like Fairfax, Loudon, and Prince George’s?
We have made a few deliveries in Fairfax County. Try contacting the Maryland Feed the Fight team at FeedthefightMD@gmail.com. There is also a FtF team forming in Alexandria soon.
Can my donation to go directly to my local hospital?
At this time we cannot direct funds to a specific hospital. You can absolutely call the restaurant directly and place the order yourself for them to deliver to a hospital of your choice. If the restaurant has a minimum dollar amount for delivery, consider collecting money from neighbors for a group effort.
Can I support your team by volunteering or delivering meals?
Most of our restaurant partners are delivering the meals themselves, in order to keep their staff employed. We also have volunteer drivers as part of our team. At this time, making a monetary donation and sharing our organization’s information www.feedthefight.org are the most helpful ways to support our mission.
I want to start a Feed the Fight in my city but I don’t have the resources. What can I do to help?
Frontline Foods is a GREAT organization that feeds healthcare workers across the U.S. They’ve partnered with World Central Kitchen to feed heroes in 23 cities so far. Check this out if you want to start a local chapter and bring this national organization to your area!
